Translation - Explanation and Caution

The County of Lanark is offering text and website translation services provided by Google Translate™, a free service currently offering over 50 languages. Our goal is to assist English as a Second Language (ESL) users with a way to understand the programs, services, and information provided by Lanark County.

Please note that NOT all text may be translated correctly or be translated at all. You agree that when a translation is complete, you assume the risk of any inaccuracies, errors, and omissions therein. You agree that the County of Lanark shall NOT be held responsible or liable for any damages or losses that may result from your reliance upon or use of Google Translate™.

Students – Support Youth Employment!

Recruitment for the 2018 summer season will begin in February 2018.  Watch for our advertisements mid-February on our website.

If you are a college or university student returning to school in the Fall, Lanark County offers opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fun atmosphere.

Typically, we offer the following summer student employment opportunities:

Public Works Department
  • Road Maintenance Crew
  • Civil Engineering Technologists
Social Services Department
  • Clerk
Tourism Department
  • Special Project Clerk
Human Resources Department

Finance Department
  • Clerk

Advertisements for student positions are typically posted on the Lanark County website the 2nd and 3rd week of February. The application deadline is the end February.

Interviews and job offers are completed during the months of March and April. To indicate that you understand and agree to the conditions specified in your letter of offer, you will be requested to sign a copy of the letter of offer and return it to the Human Resources Department.

Student positions generally begin the first week of May through until the end of August.

We want to get you started as quickly as we can! All students must be available to attend an orientation session during the first week of May. Failure to attend the orientation session as scheduled may result in a job offer being rescinded.
