Housing Options Program (HOP)

What is the Housing Options Program (HOP)?

This program is funded through the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative. The HOP program replaces the Energy Fund, Rent Bank and Community Homelessness Prevention Program. It assists people experiencing homelessness to obtain or retain housing OR those at risk of homelessness to remain housed. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria; applicants are eligible for $750 once per calendar year; funds are issued directly to a company/landlord/service provider to assist with the necessary function.

For example:

  • utility arrears
  • last months rent for mandatory moves
  • hoarding/bed bug clean up
  • minor home repairs, etc.
