Translation - Explanation and Caution

The County of Lanark is offering text and website translation services provided by Google Translate™, a free service currently offering over 50 languages. Our goal is to assist English as a Second Language (ESL) users with a way to understand the programs, services, and information provided by Lanark County.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)

LEAP is a grant program intended to provide emergency relief to eligible low income consumer who may be experiencing difficulty paying their bill. LEAP is funded by all utility ratepayers through the distribution rates of each utility.

What is Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) Enbridge?

The United Way of Greater Simcoe is the LEAP intake agency for Customers of Enbridge. The applicant must meet the income eligibility criteria and be an existing customer of Enbridge. The maximum amount an applicant can receive is $500 dollars.

They will conduct an initial screening and refer eligible customers to The Table at 613-267-6428 ext 29 to complete the application process.

This program is only accessible once every 12 months.

If an applicant has arrears with Ottawa River Power the same processes are in place.

What is Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) Hydro One?

The United Way of Greater Simcoe is the LEAP intake agency for Customers of Hydro One. To apply for assistance with Hydro One call 1-855-487-5327. They will conduct an initial screening and refer eligible customers to The Table at 613-267-6428 ext 29 to complete the application process.

The applicant must meet the Income Eligibility criteria and the arrears must have been accumulated at their current place of residency. The maximum amount an applicant can receive is $500 or if they heat with electric heat they could receive $600. This program is only accessible once every 12 months.

LEAP also has a Home Assistance Program for Homeowners and Tenants which helps to make peoples homes more energy efficient. GreenSaver can help you reduce the cost of your hydro bill! We provide FREE energy efficient upgrades like light bulbs, fridges, freezers, window air condtioners and protable dehumidifiers to your home or apartment through the Home Assistance Program.  If your home is heated electrically you may even qualify for home insulation.
