Get ready to lace up your sneakers, hop on your bike, and hit the trails—the Silver Chain Challenge is back this June!
This fun, community-wide challenge invites residents and visitors of Lanark and Renfrew Counties to get active, enjoy the outdoors, and take part in a little friendly competition. Throughout the month of June, participants log their walking, running, and cycling kilometres to help their county come out on top.
Which county will win? The one with the most kilometres logged by June 30 earns major bragging rights!
Why Join the Challenge?
The Silver Chain Challenge is about more than just kilometres—it’s a celebration of health, community, and the great outdoors. Whether you’re training for a goal or simply using the challenge as motivation to get outside more often, it’s a great way to:

- Discover new trails, routes, and communities
- Set personal goals and track your progress
- Be part of a fun, region-wide initiative
No matter your pace or experience level, every step, pedal, and stride counts!
How Does It Work?
Step 1: Get Moving
Walk, run or cycle anywhere in Lanark or Renfrew County, from neighbourhood streets to scenic trails.
Step 2: Log Your Kilometres
Visit our website starting June 1, 2026 to track your distance and see how your county is performing.
Step 3: Share Your Experience
Post photos of your adventures on Facebook or Instagram using #SilverChainChallenge and #LanarkCounty.
Win Prizes
Get rewarded for being active! The participant from Lanark County with the most kilometres logged will win a $250 gift card to Joe Mamma Cycles. All participants who log their distance or share photos will be entered in a draw to win additional prizes, including:
- A bike tune-up from Joe Mamma Cycles
- Lanark County swag
