Lanark County is committed to doing everything in its ability to slow the spread of Covid-19. Our top priority is the health and safety of our clients, staff and community and we have implemented proactive measures to limit further transmission of the Coronavirus. While our programs continue to run; we may have altered the way we deliver them to you to align with Covid-19 Provincial legislation and Public Health Ontario guidelines.
If you are aware of individuals or families who are struggling during this crisis and who might benefit from one of these connections but does not have access to reliable (or any) Internet services, please help to spread the word to them or contact the listed service to see if they can help. We’re all in this together!

Enquiries from Health Care Providers or for members of the public reporting symptoms – Extension 2222, available 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., seven days a week. Mental Health |
These are stressful times. Our programs are transitioning to “Talk-In” for 60- to 90-minute sessions to assist people with mental health concerns beginning April 27. People can call multiple times should they choose. Many local grocery stores are offering online and/or telephone ordering services, as well as pick-up and/or delivery services. Please contact your local grocery store for options. As well, many local restaurants and businesses have food takeout and/or pick-up and delivery options. Check with your favourites. Grocery Delivery – Almonte and Carleton PlaceThanks to a partnership between Carebridge Community Support, Patrice’s Your Independent Grocer in Almonte and Mitchell’s Your Independent Grocer in Carleton Place, seniors and those at-risk can call the grocery store and have groceries delivered. Lanark Highlands Food Pantry 613-772-0063 Lanark Highlands Plan B Lanark Village Food For Thought - School Student Nutrition Programs Food For Thought provides services and support to 35 education sites located in Lanark County. In a typical year, our school nutrition programs provide over 600,000 meals and snacks. During school closures (March to August), Food For Thought was able to provide 523 families with 1,021 school aged children a value of $178,600 in grocery gift cards. For the 2020-21 school year, due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have moved to “Grab and Go” programs with prepackaged food items that come at a substantially increased cost. Our goal is to help older adults stay in their own home while providing Community Centre Without Walls – Lanark CountyThe North Lanark Community Health Centre (NLCHC) and PEP Seniors Therapeutic Centre (PEP) are teaming up to help area seniors, and adults living with disabilities, stay connected through this new FREE telephone-based group programming venture starting in May.
